Not all artists are the same. A checklist to ensure you don't end up on a 'Tattoo Fails' page.
Your artist is a partner, not a xerox machine. Here is how to pick the right one at Pixel Tattoo or anywhere else.
1. Check HEALED Work
Fresh tattoos always look vibrant. Look for photos of "Healed" work in their portfolio. Are the lines still crisp? Is the shading smooth?
2. Style Specialization
Don't ask a geometric specialist to do a hyper-realistic portrait. Go to the master of that specific style.
3. Hygiene Check
Do they open needles in front of you? Is the station wrapped in plastic? If the shop looks dirty, run.
4. The Vibe
You will sit with this person for hours. Ensure they are respectful, listen to your ideas, and make you feel safe.
